Canada’s Badlands will play host to iconic Canadian country performer Paul Brandt this summer in the stunning Canadian Badlands Passion Play Amphitheatre August 21st.

Paul Brandt is known across Canada as one of the top voices in country music. Since 1997, Brandt has created countless hits, received 13 Canadian Country Music Awards and eight Juno Awards among many others. This performance will be the third concert in the Canadian Badlands Icons series at the Passion Play venue.

The Canadian Badlands Icons series launched in 2015 with a sellout performance by Tom Cochrane. That event was recognized with two 2015 Alberta Tourism Awards.

“We are excited to announce this third concert in the Canadian Icons series,”says Vance Neudorf, Executive Director of Canadian Badlands Passion Play. “The Tom Cochrane concert was a great experience. We have received overwhelming support from our patrons and encouragement from the local community. With the incredible acoustics and the intimate setting of our Badlands Amphitheatre these types of concerts are growing in popularity.”

Just 90 minutes from Calgary, the 2,700-seat Canadian Badlands Passion Play Amphitheatre, has been the stage for an award-winning dramatic presentation about the life of Jesus Christ for the past 22 years.

2016 is a ground breaking season for the Canadian Badlands Passion Play. The new script, an adaptation of the Gospel of Luke titled “Face to Face”, written by Alberta playwright Barrett Hileman will encompass the entire life of Christ, beginning at his birth. Alberta composer Luke Ertman has created the score for the new play. Brian Jensen, who played the role of the apostle John for the past five seasons, has become the Lead Director. There are nine performances July 8-24.

Tickets for the Paul Brandt concert will be available online June 27, 2016 Canadian Badlands Passion Play or by calling the box office at 403-823-2001 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.  Ticket prices start at $69.00 plus processing fees.
