Twist Marketing clients receive SEVEN Marketing Canada Awards at EDAC

At the recent Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC) Annual Conference, Alberta SouthWest won five awards including the“Best of the Best” award (EDAC CUP) for its Alberta SouthWest ad campaign while the District of Lillooet grabbed two awards.

Combined, Twist Marketing clients Alberta SouthWest Economic Development and District of Lillooet received seven Marketing Canada awards at the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC) Annual Conference, held in Iqaluit, Nunavut in early October. EDAC represents a national organization with 1000+ members of economic development professionals. The Marketing Canada Awards competition recognizes excellence in community marketing, which is an integral part of economic development.

The Alberta SouthWest Advertising Campaign was named as an EDAC Cup Contender. From those nominees Alberta SouthWest was named the EDAC Cup Winner. The EDAC Cup represents “Best of the Best”, and is the top recognition of the annual awards program, which attracted 160 submissions from across Canada. Entries were evaluated based on creativity and uniqueness as well as effectiveness in achieving objectives. Alberta SouthWest also received top honours for Best Advertising Campaign, Best Website www.albertasouthwest.com, and Best Online Community Outreach and Social Media www.myalbertasouthwest.com microsite.

Twist Marketing client District of Lillooet also snagged two Marketing Canada Awards including one for “Cliff Boys” Single Advertisement submission.  The other award was for the EDAC Cup Contender for District of Lillooet’s “Cliff Boys” Single Advertisement submission.

Adds Proulx, “AlbertaSW has had a banner year, winning the 2012 Summit International Bronze Award in the Community Website category, and three 2012 Economic Developers of Alberta Awards of Excellence. AlbertaSW is also one of three finalists for the 2012 ‘Tourism Community of the Year’ Alto Award.” The Community of the Year award is a new award category and the nine 2012 Alto Award winners will be announced on Monday, October 22, 2012 at the Travel Alberta Industry Conference in Banff.
