Neil Bousquet, APR has more than 25 years of broad-based experience in radio journalism, Corporate PR, PR Agencies, and Ad Agency PR experience in Toronto and Calgary.
He has worked for a number of top-flight organizations including CIL, Consumers' Gas, Berger & Associates (now Hill & Knowlton), The Houston Group (now Edelman PR) and Bozell.
He is a former Alberta correspondent for Marketing Magazine and has written for business publications such as Alberta Venture. He has also worked as a radio News and
Sports Director and on-air "personality" at two Ontario radio stations.
Neil has a Bachelor of Environment Studies degree from the University of Waterloo. He is a volunteer national APR grader for the Canadian Public Relations Society. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of CPRS Toronto. He has also volunteered his time to dozens of charities and other organizations including Big Brothers of Metro Toronto, Crohn's & Colitis
Foundation of Canada, The Tooth Fairy Children's Foundation, Little League Canada, Baseball Calgary and Babe Ruth Calgary.
Neil also volunteers his time and marketing experience to assist entrepreneurs with worthy projects of his choosing. One of those is burnt thicket theatre.
Neil is also an NCCP Level II Certified Coach for baseball and a past volunteer Board Member, Coach and Director of PR/website for Babe Ruth Calgary. In 2004, he received the League’s Volunteer of the Year award.
While on the Babe Ruth Calgary Board, he represented the league on the Board of Directors of the Alberta Amateur Baseball Council (AABC). He is also a member of the Board of Directors of TMAC Alberta-NWT.
Neil creates and implements Marketing & PR strategies that enhance marketing, sales, and/or investor relations programs for Canadian entrepreneurs. His industry specialties include travel & tourism, arts & culture, heathcare, destination marketing, foodservice and economic development. His speciality is media relations. He also writes and edits a variety of materials for clients from news releases to advertorials to articles and online content.
Neil is a native of Kapuskasing, Ontario. Before moving to the Oliver-Osoyoos area in the south Okanagan in 2013, he lived in SE Calgary for 17 years and prior to that Etobicoke and Simcoe, Ontario.
He plays for the Oliver Legion mixed slo-pitch team that competes in a 10-team league that stretches from Osoyoos to the West Bank in Kelowna. He is also re-introducing himself to golf and has found new enjoyment in cycling in the south Okanagan. Kayaking and hiking round out summer activities. In winter, curling, skiing, snowshoeing and occasional cycling are the main activities. He is also being re-introduced to cross-country skiing.
Neil is reported to be keen on participating in wine, beer & cocktail tastings and related food parings.
He is married to Toni Bousquet, an award winning Calgary residential real estate agent for Royal LePage Solutions. Toni Bousquet is a top achiever -- winning both the Director's Platinum Award and the President's Gold Award for outstanding sale achievements and service to her customers. Toni is now fully retired and enjoying the fruits of life that the south Okanagan has to offer.
Their son Brett is an accomplished NCAA baseball player who has achieved a BSc in Exercise Science in 2013 was awarded his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Pacific University in Hillsboro, Oregon. He is now Board Certified to practice and is working at clinics throughout the USA. He continues to work through the incredibly slow and antiquated accreditation system for Physical Therapy in Canada in order to practice his craft and passion for sports-related physiotherapy.
